What will students review with these task cards?
With these Force and Motion Task Cards, students will review:
- that moving objects have kinetic energy
- that motion is described by an object’s speed and direction
- how changes in motion are related to net force and mass
- how contact forces transfer energy and change objects’ motion when objects collide
- that friction is a force that opposes motion and warms objects up
What standards are covered?
These Force and Motion Task Cards are specifically aligned with the Virginia Science SOL 5.3, although they closely match most science standards related to force, motion, and friction.
This unit has been updated to align with the 2018 Science SOLs AND the 2025 Science Instructional Guides.
Is a digital version included?
These Force and Motion Task Cards resource includes BOTH a digital version and a PDF version. The digital version can be accessed through Google Forms and allows students to easily self-check their work. You can also use the Google Forms task cards to track student progress.
When you purchase this product, you will be given access to a link that will allow you to open the file in Google Forms. You’ll then share that file with your students.
What if I want to create my own science task cards?
Four blank task cards are included so that you can create additional questions, if needed. For these task cards, you will print the blank cards and write your questions directly on the cards.
