Virginia Resources Escape Room
Are you looking for a fun way to review information about Virginia’s natural resources? Look no further! This Virginia Resources Escape Room has everything you need! Whether teaching remotely or in-person, this classroom escape room is easy to set up and students will have lots of fun reviewing what they have learned!
In this Virginia Resources Escape Room students find themselves trapped! The only way to escape is for students to successfully complete six challenges that require them to use critical thinking skills as they review science concepts.

What will students learn with this classroom escape room?
Using these escape room activities, students will review important concepts about Virginia’s natural resources. Topics covered:
- watersheds and water
- plants and animals
- minerals, rocks, and ores
- forests, soil, and land
What escape room activities are included?
When completing the activities, students will use critical thinking and inference skills. Challenges include activities such as:
- matching science terms to their correct definitions
- reading information about watersheds and answering questions to create a code
- decoding information about watersheds and water resources
- identifying true statements about Virginia’s natural resources
- solving math problems to create a code
- sorting natural resources and man-made resources
Is a digital version included?
This resource includes two versions of the escape room. The first version is a PDF escape room that can be completed in a classroom.
The second version is a digital escape room that can be completed in Google Forms. The digital escape room is self-checking so that students can review the answers to their work even when learning remotely.
What standards are covered?
This Virginia Resources Escape Room is specifically aligned with the Virginia Science SOL 4.8.
This escape room has been updated to align with the 2018 Science SOLs AND the 2025 Science Instructional Guides.

Your escape rooms might be my favorite purchase from TPT. They are a fantastic way to review the content because the students are really applying what they learned. The students also have to think deeply about their understanding because the activities can be challenging, but they all celebrate when someone finishes a station. It is clear that there was a lot of time and effort put into the escape rooms. Great purchase!
