What topics are covered in this Electricity Unit?

This Electricity Unit includes 6 detailed lesson plans. All lessons are hands-on and incorporate literacy skills. Students will–

• Explain that electrical energy flows easily through conductors but not insulators, and identify examples of conductors and insulators
• Build simple circuits
• Solve problems using electrical circuits
• Explain that electrical energy flows through closed circuits, but not open circuits
• Explain how static electricity is generated, and identify examples of static electricity
• Build an electromagnet and explain that a current flowing through a wire creates a magnetic field
• Identify examples of electrical energy being transformed into radiant, thermal, and mechanical energy
