This Regions of Virginia Unit includes 7 detailed lesson plans. All lessons are hands-on and incorporate literacy skills. Students will–

• locate Virginia and its bordering states on a map
• locate and describe the relative location and physical characteristics of Virginia’s five geographic regions
• locate, identify, and describe the impact of Virginia’s bodies of water on its history, economy, and culture
• describe the major products and industries of each region and how geography plays a role in the economy of a region
