  • the Southwest region including the Pueblo
  • the Northeastern Woodland region including the Haudenosaunee (Iroquois)
  • the Southeast region including the Cherokee

Students will compare and contrast the lifestyles of these Native American tribes based on geography, climate, resources available, food, shelter, and clothing.

What standards are covered?

These Native Americans Task Cards are specifically aligned with the 2023 Virginia U.S. History SOL USI.2, although the task cards closely match most U.S. History standards related to teaching Native Americans.

These Native Americans Task Cards resource includes BOTH a digital version and a PDF version. The digital version can be accessed through Google Forms and allows students to easily self-check their work. You can also use the Google Forms task cards to track student progress.

What if I want to create my own social studies task cards?

Four blank task cards are included so that you can create additional questions, if needed. For these task cards, you will print the blank cards and write your questions directly on the cards.

I recommend printing these task cards in color and laminating so that they can easily be reused from year to year, although this is not necessary. These task cards also print and are easy to read in grayscale.
