U.S. Constitution Task Cards are a no-prep, fun way to review the problems with the Articles of Confederation, the development of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, and early American government.

U.S Constitution Task Cards includes 28 task cards, a student response worksheet, and an answer key. Questions are multiple choice, multiple select, matching, and ordering events.

What will students review with these task cards?

With these U.S. Constitution Task Cards, students will:

• the strengths, weaknesses, and outcomes of the government established by the Articles of Confederation
• the Constitutional Convention debates and resolutions including the Great Compromise and the Three-Fifths Compromise
• the role of James Madison in the development and ratification of the Constitution
• the influence and general principles taken from the Virginia Declaration of Rights when drafting the Bill of Rights
• the three branches of government
• checks and balances
• the Bill of Rights
• accomplishments of the first presidents and the presidential precedents set by George Washington
• the development of Washington, D.C.
• the first two-party system (Federalists and Democratic-Republicans)

What standards are covered?

These U.S. Constitution Task Cards are specifically aligned with the 2023 Virginia U.S. History SOL USI.7, although the task cards closely match most U.S. History standards related to the U.S. Constitution and early American government.

Is a digital version included?

These U.S. Constitution Task Cards resource includes BOTH a digital version and a PDF version. The digital version can be accessed through Google Forms and allows students to easily self-check their work. You can also use the Google Forms task cards to track student progress.

When you purchase this product, you will be given access to a link that will allow you to open the file in Google Forms. You’ll then share that file with your students.

What if I want to create my own social studies task cards?

Four blank task cards are included so that you can create additional questions, if needed. For these task cards, you will print the blank cards and write your questions directly on the cards.
