This Area and Perimeter Jeopardy Game (aligned to fourth-grade Virginia math SOLs) includes a fun, Jeopardy-style game to review the area and perimeter of squares and rectangles. Versions of the review game are included for both PowerPoint and Google Slides.

## What will students review with this Area and Perimeter Jeopardy Game?

25 questions are included in a Jeopardy-style game to review and practice the following skills:

• Develop a formula for the area and perimeter of a rectangle (including a square).
• Determine the area and perimeter of a rectangle when given the measure of two adjacent sides (in whole number units), with and without models.
• Determine the area and perimeter of a square when given the measure of one side (in whole number units) with and without models.
• Use concrete materials and pictorial models to explore the relationship between area and perimeter of rectangles.
• Identify and represent rectangles with the same perimeter and different areas or with the same area and different perimeters.
• Solve contextual problems involving area and perimeter of rectangles and squares.
• Determine whether area or perimeter is needed in a given scenario.

Each question is linked to a slide with the answer so that students can quickly and easily check their answers.

## What formats of the game are provided?

This resource includes versions of the Area and Perimeter Jeopardy Game for BOTH PowerPoint and Google Slides. The questions used with each version are the same.

## How is this area and perimeter interactive game played?

The PowerPoint version of this Jeopardy-style game should be played in presentation mode. Category values disappear when they are clicked on. The category values can be reset anytime by exiting the presentation and reopening it. You can type scores onto a scoreboard while playing in presentation mode. The presentation has been coded to help you easily navigate from the category board to questions and answers without scrolling.

The Google Slides version of this Jeopardy-style review game should be played in full screen, edit mode. Instructions and a video tutorial are provided that show how this is done. You can type scores onto a scoreboard but the category values do not disappear when they are clicked on. This is a limitation of Google Slides. But, markers are provided alongside the category board that you can drag and drop over the category values after they have been used. The presentation has been coded to help you easily navigate from the category board to questions and answers without scrolling.
