Some of the most challenging days of the entire school year are those days between Thanksgiving break and winter break. The kids are so antsy with anticipation for the holidays and a long break. And, let’s face it… teachers are too!
Turning your classroom into an interactive game show experience is the perfect way to keep students engaged and have fun as a class before the long winter break. This Christmas Trivia Jeopardy Game for kids will get your students laughing as they compete to become the classroom trivia champion!

What are the Christmas Trivia Jeopardy questions and answers?
What’s a fun classroom Jeopardy game without engaging questions that pique students’ attention and get them involved in the game!?
Students will compete to answer 25 questions in this holiday Jeopardy game. The five categories are:
- Ho! Ho! Ho! – Questions about Santa Claus.
- Christmas Around the World – Questions about Christmas traditions in countries around the world such as Japan, Iceland, England, and Australia.
- Story Time – Questions about popular holiday stories such as “The Grinch,” “The Night Before Christmas,” “The Nutcracker,” and “The Polar Express.”
- Magical Melodies – Questions about popular holiday songs such as “Frosty the Snowman,” “We Wish You a Merry Christmas,” “Jingle Bells,” and “The 12 Days of Christmas.”
- Christmas Traditions – Questions about Christmas traditions in the United States such as mistletoe, Christmas trees, poinsettias, and leaving cookies for Santa.
Question types include multiple-choice, fill-in-the-blank, and open-ended.
Each question is linked to a slide with the answer so that students can quickly and easily check their answers.

How does the Christmas Trivia Jeopardy Game work?
All of my Jeopardy games come with a version for PowerPoint AND a version for Google Slides.
The PowerPoint version should be played in presentation mode. The presentation has been coded to make the game very interactive and easy to use. Some of the features include:
- Go from the category board to questions and answers, to the scoreboard, and back to the category board with single clicks.
- The category values disappear when they are clicked on.
- You can type scores onto a scoreboard while playing in presentation mode.
The Google Slides version has also been pre-coded for interactive, easy use. Some features of the Google Slides version include:
- Go from the category board to questions and answers, to the scoreboard, and back to the category board with single clicks.
- The category values do not disappear when they are clicked on. This is a limitation of Google Slides. But, markers are provided alongside the category board that you can drag and drop over the category values after they have been used.
- You can type scores onto a scoreboard.

Does this Jeopardy game for kids require setup?
The only setup required for this Christmas Trivia Jeopardy Game is for you to open the presentation… that’s it!
You do not have to come up with Christmas trivia questions and answers, but all of the categories and questions are editable if you would like to change them.
How should this holiday game be played?
This Christmas Trivia Jeopardy game can be played as a whole class, in small groups, or independently.
It is the most fun to play this game as a whole class. Turn your classroom into an interactive gameshow by projecting the game on a large screen or SMARTboard and dividing the students into teams. Each team should write their answers to the questions on their whiteboard, and all teams should hold up their answers at the same time. Each team with the correct answer gets a point.
For small groups, play the same way you would as a whole class. But, each student will play independently and represent themselves.
For independent use, allow students to play the game by themselves on a computer or digital device at a center.

No matter how you choose to play, the PowerPoint and Google Slides versions of the Christmas Trivia Jeopardy Game come with a scoreboard that can be edited and updated, even when playing the game in presentation mode.
What are teachers saying?
Our Jeopardy games are some of the top-selling teaching resources in our shop, and we constantly get rave reviews about their functionality and how they keep students engaged.
Check out what Ms. Martin said about using our Jeopardy games:
“These are games that actually work the way they are supposed to! I love that when the students answer a question, it disappears and they can easily see which questions have not been answered. This can be completed whole group, small groups, and even individually. […] Thank you for making great products that actually work.”
