Economics Escape Room
Are you looking for a fun way to review elementary economics? Look no further! This Economics Escape Room for elementary has everything you need! Whether teaching remotely or in-person, this classroom escape room is easy to set up, and students will have lots of fun reviewing what they have learned!
In this Economics Escape Room, students find themselves trapped! The only way to escape is for students to successfully complete six challenges that require them to use critical thinking skills as they review social studies skills.

Topics covered:
- goods and services
- natural, human, and capital resources
- why people and regions specialize in what they do best and trade for the rest
- examples of economic choice and opportunity cost
What escape room activities are included?
Students will complete six challenges. When completing the activities, students will use critical thinking and inference skills. Challenges include activities such as:
- solving math problems to reveal true facts about economic situations and scenarios
- decoding messages to learn fun facts about specialization, trade, economic choice, and opportunity cost
- matching terms related to economics to a correct description
- identifying natural resources, human resources, and capital resources
- sorting goods and services
Is a digital version included?
This resource includes two versions of the escape room. The first version is a PDF escape room that can be completed in a classroom.
The second version is a digital escape room that can be completed in Google Forms. The digital escape room is self-checking so that students can review the answers to their work even when learning remotely.
What standards are covered?
This Economics Escape Room is specifically aligned with the 2023 Virginia SOL 3.10, although it closely matches most standards related to teaching goods and services, resources, specialization, economic choice, and opportunity cost.
